Synopsis

In 1947, amidst the turmoil of Partition, one Sikh family in Pakistan faced a life-altering choice. An emotional plea from a Muslim friend, Hayat Khan Baloch, presented three options: stay put, take him along, or kill him, because he could not bear the separation.

The family's decision to stay, guided by the principle that someone must remain to take care of the holy Gurudwaras, set in motion a legacy of faith and service that continues to this day. Resilience of Faith follows the remarkable journey of that family's descendant, Ramesh Singh, a prominent Sikh leader in Pakistan.

The film chronicles his first visit to the sacred Gurudwara Kartarpur Sahib in 1994, an experience that broke him from inside and ignited a lifelong mission. From establishing the Mojaz Foundation to preserve Sikh heritage to becoming a Member of Parliament representing the Sikh community, his story is a testament to unwavering dedication.

This documentary explores the profound significance of the Kartarpur Corridor, a project described as a "corridor of love and affection" that reunites families separated for generations. Through Ramesh Singh's work and perspective, viewers gain a nuanced insight into the lives of religious minorities in Pakistan.

The film touches on both historic progress, such as Pakistan becoming the first country to pass a Sikh Marriage Act, and persistent challenges, including addressing hateful content in educational textbooks. This film explores: The powerful, untold story of a Sikh family who chose to remain in Pakistan after the 1947 partition.

An inside look at the creation of the Kartarpur Corridor, a symbol of peace and human connection. The personal journey of service and faith of a Sikh Member of Parliament in Pakistan. A candid examination of interfaith harmony and the rights of religious minorities.

The deep spiritual and historical importance of sacred Sikh heritage sites located within Pakistan, including Kartarpur Sahib, the final resting place of Guru Nanak.
