Ferrofluid

"Ferrofluid" is a documentary chronicling the journey of a ten-memberexperimental fusion band from Chandigarh, Ferrofluid. Comprising musicianswith diverse backgrounds spanning folk, classical, ambient, and electronicgenres, the group allows their compositions to organically emerge throughcollaborative playing, rather than adhering to a fixed style.

Folk is an integralpart of their sound. The film primarily follows Ferrofluid as they prepare for and participate in theKabir Yatra 2024, a nomadic music festival set in rural Rajasthan, which focuseson the philosophy and poetry of Kabir.

The narrative begins in Chandigarh, capturing the band's initial eorts in composing and rehearsing for thissignificant journey. As the Yatra unfolds, the documentary observes their performances acrossvaried landscapes, their adaptation to new environments, and their reflectionson these experiences.

The film thus serves as an exploration into the identitiesof these musicians, their origins, and the influences shaping their distinct sound.
